I'll be attending a two day quilt workshop taught by Laura Cater-Woods. On Friday evening she'll give a lecture entitled Balancing Acts: Surviving as an Artist and on the weekend she'll be teaching a workshop called Tempting the Muse. I've read good things about her and thought I'd post this link to the experience of someone who was inspired after working with Laura at a Tempting the Muse workshop in November 2006.
I'll be bringing this photo along with me for inspiration. It's a picture of the Guggenheim Bilbao modern art museum in Bilbao, Spain, designed by architect Frank Gehry. I love the grace and eerie beauty of this building which make me want to work with light, colour, depth and form in fabric. If you're interested in the building you can read more about it here. Of course, not everyone is a fan of the place. Here's a critique.
